And I make $14.20 an hour it's fucking impossible. I could get a roommate, but I have no friends and I won't trust a stranger. I've even looked for a second job overnight but I can't find anything.

I'm going to be living in my parents house forever and I want out so damn bad.

Rural sucks though :(. it's all good i guess if have a car and can reach town for groceries but the internet choices are very slim. all one could have is either dial up or crappy satellite.

technology hasn't advanced far enough to put faster internet in rural areas for a reasonable cost.

Mortgages are cheaper than rent in some places and with a fixed rate there is less to worry about being evicted.

You can do something like a condo which is much cheaper than a whole house.

rentals have gone sky high, for what reason I don't know. In 1998 I rented a 2 bedroom apt for $550 a month, it wasnt much then, kinda dumpy, that same place is renting those apts for $1200 + now, not worth it, I would never move back there for that price, it was barely worth $550 back then.

If I could just find a place that I could afford in my area I could move out and still be able to help them with whatever they need and be no more than a half an hour away.

$1400 rent
$150 utilities
$150 food
$80 gas
$400 to parents to help pay their mortgage because they suck with money and made bad decisions and went into foreclosure at one point

These are all estimates except the $400 to parents.

So theres no way Id be able to afford my own place. Im currently looking for another full time job so I can work 80 hours a week and spend no time in the place Ill be paying $1400 a month for...

TC, I know you said you don't have friends to room with, but have you checked out sites like roommates.com? I know there is some anxiety about living with somebody you never met (and I don't mean to make light of it by any means), but if you do enough vetting you might find somebody to split that 1400 with you :)

It honestly depends. My town population is 900 and I'm 24 miles from the closest walmart or chain grocery store. I can get 100mb Internet here fiber optic for close to the same price I was paying in metro atlanta.
