That is your mindset now though. As a child you are not mature enough to think about that and the power will corrupt you very easily.

I mean a child who will always get his way will always be a spoiled brat and that wont change.

According to Kilgrave's dad, he was always a horrible little shit. It wasn't the powers that changed him.

Even if it was, I think having those powers from a young age will turn the vast majority of people into a sociopath.

We like to think that we are pure and upright individuals, but I'll be the first to admit that id probably be a monster if I had his power, especially if I was born with it.

That kind of power, like it or not, would go to your head. At first, you might start off light, like humiliating asshole in public. You know, people who deserved it. If you weren't careful, you might eventually move on from that, to something more nefarious.

Not as powerful as Xavier. Kilgrave can't take direct control over people, he gives them commands. His power can be thwarted sometimes by taking advantage of vague wording of his orders.

and he can only command you once. Also, if you end up dying and coming back, whatever he commanded you to do is worn off.

Also, I don't think anyone would come out so well adjusted. Its one of those things that would probably mutate your personality.

In the comics he was a spy who got chemicals spilled on him, and in the show he got them from his scientist parents trying to cure some brain disease he had

I don't remember him having that limit. Weren't there multiple people he kept as thralls essentially under constant orders?

In Jessica Jones he got his powers through scientific experiments his parents did on him. In the comics I think it was from some crazy nerve gas that he came into contact with.

So he's not a mutant

No he can give multiple commands, but any command he gives wears off in half a day or something

Also, you build a tolerance to it if he commands you often

Well maybe that's true, but I swore that Jessica wasn't under his control or something when he commanded her but I swore it was because she had died and when coming back, whatever control was gone. I don't know...its been awhile. I thought of watching it but it can be kinda depressing lol

This is also different in the comics btw. There, because of shenanigans, the Avengers feel guilty enough that they get Jean Grey to give Jessica psychic shielding that nullifies Kilgrave's powers.

Also worth mentioning that comic Kilgrave uses pheromones, so (IIRC) you can just block his abilities with smell.
