I knew people that did construction in the summer and would then violate probation purposefully in the winter to go to jail for a few months. They did this for years. Some folks do use prison as a destination vacation.

Yeah, I worked my ass off for 25 years, paying taxes the whole time. My body broke down from chronic illness. Do I deserve to die because you don't want to pay the same taxes that I did?

So, that said, TC, maybe you should think before you open your mouth.

People who dont work steal because they rely on people who do work to keep them afloat despite their ability.

People who cannot work arent stealing because they have to be supported somehow due to their inability. And when family and friends cannot or will not come through, decency says that society step in.

That distinction is pretty clear. What isnt clear is where the line is drawn on who counts as "cant work" and who counts as "can" work, and what kind of support is actually due.

I personally dont count unemployment as something that should exist (because its just a shit bandaid that exists because we dont want to do UBI) but disabillity certainly is.
