2) if u cant afford an extra $$ a month, you cant afford Netflix to begin with

It's not about what people can afford. It's about what people are willing to pay for the service.

What other service is cheaper and provides the same or better entertainment hours per month?

I feel like Amazon Prime is the one to get. They get more exclusives that I want to see (like the new show from the top gear guys) and you actually get discounts on Amazon that, if you use the site, can be greater than your monthly fee.

It's the principle of them losing content while at the same time raising prices.

Who says they think any service is worth the increased amount?

Disney is going to bend Netflix over next year. Wait until Hulu has The Simpsons, King of the Hill, Lost, etc... exclusively and their standalone streaming service has all of their movies on backlog.

Pretty soon we're going to be right back where we started.

Hey I saved $50/mo by getting TV service disconnected. I just get all my entertainment from five $10/mo streaming services insead!

Netflix is worth what you pay, but I dumped it on account of the horrendous original movies they keep pumping out. (Their TV shows are generally pretty decent)

Dude, every pay service wants more and more. The fact that people are so rebellious about an unnecessary hike in price shows me that people are sick and tired of paying more for EVERYTHING. Most of us consider ourselves lucky if we can pay the exhorbitant prices for rent. If we are fortunate enough to have an entertainment budget, we dont need another massive corporation deciding that they need another dollar.

Fuck them and more power to the people who are boycotting them.

Millenials are cheap, bitchy and entitled. Who knew.

Or we're some of the first to realize "wow, maybe I shouldn't be okay with paying more for less"

I pay 10.99 a month for Hulu and Spotify together. That's about 5.50/month for each service.
