What do you think of them? I've seen a lot of classics this year for the first time, including the mainstream classics, like 2001: A Space Odyssey, Die Hard, and the classics mostly just known to film buffs, like Cries and Whispers, and Persona. I've seen plenty of other random stuff, too. I suppose I've mostly focused on Bergman, Altman, Carpenter, and Korosowa...at least 3 of which are pretty good directors. Have you seen many of these films?

They Live

Yes! That movie is so entertaining and so Eighties. It looks dated, but it's got swagger and the premise is wacky. I could watch it again and again.

Of the new films you watched, Three Billboards Outside Ebbing Missouri had such a great cast and a tight story. I don't think there's any fat on that film. Shape of Water is also top notch. It's so polished and I respect the studio and director taking a risk on an unconventional love story set in the Sixties. I'm glad it won a bunch of Oscars, but I wouldn't be surprised if not many people have seen it.

Props for Pulse being one of your favorites. It's such a great movie. Saw it last October and still find myself thinking about it here and there.
