I know why American conservatives like Brexit - because they generally don't like the EU. But there are other countries in Western Europe that aren't part of the EU (Iceland, Norway, Switzerland) although they still have strong ties with EU countries.

Why does it matter that the UK leaves the EU?

Because American liberals, like any other country's liberals, only praise democracy and the sovereign will of the people only as long as it suits their agenda. When it stops doing so, they would shut actual democracy down in an instant if they could. Or attempt to swap the people. Pretty much what the Eurocrats and unelected EU kommissars are trying to do in the EU.

the EU is a step toward a one world government so liberals adore it. there are also ideas proposed for Unions of every continent, including a north american one where we fuse with canada and mexico, make the borders open and all people of the 3 nations citizens of all 3. and use a new money called the Amero. the plan eventually is probably for each continent's Union to then fuse with each other for a global Union

every sci-fi with intergalactic travel features Earth having a one-world government.

A one world government would more effectively pursue the Earth's interests compared to several nation states all negotiating with different alien races and their various governments and councils. We need that One World government to have its institutions in place before encountering those various alien factions, not after.
