Im like halfway through and my only complaint is its not balanced well for single player. The mission Im on is hard as hell (M11)

Other than that since Metroid Prime 4 is announced and Samus Returns was great and Im over the insult of this game being the first entry in the series in half a decade Im enjoying it

I can imagine it being hard to play without dual analog, but thankfully I have a New 3DS

It reminds me of 90s FPS games tbh

Its fun to play an arcade, mission based shooter like this. And it doesnt feel out of place in the Metroid universe at all

I'd even argue that if they had simply dropped "Prime" it would have helped with fan backlash.

I'm with you, it's actually fairly fun as a multiplayer game. Yeah it's not deep or anything, but was enjoyable with my friends. Most of the backlash has to do with the Metroid Prime brand name it was placed on.

If they'd just matched the style of Metroid Prime Hunters, I might've actually looked into it.

I fucking LOVE the concept of the game. I've wanted a Federation Soldier spinoff for years, but then they showed the art style and it's just fucked up. Also IIRC there's no option to control it like Prime Hunters either, and I loved that control scheme.

I dont get the art style complaints? Other than the mechs having big heads everything looks like Metroid. Some of the bosses in particular are pretty cool so far

This is just plain untrue. I suppose if youre going for 100% it can be difficult to get enough points solo to get all medals on a level, but to finish it theres a mod for solo players that halves damage received and doubles damage dealt (there is a point bonus for not using this which you need to get to score enough for the final medal). You also get three drones that provide cover at no penalty.

Its hard at points but certainly not impossible

Yeah but its a first person shooter so does it really matter what your character looks like?

Anyway like I said theyre mechs so the design at least sort of makes sense in that respect

Idk man... most of the enemies have the same crunched up, chibi proportions that the troopers have. They look like adorable Pokemon.
