For nearly 30 years, that's all you had to go off of.

I don't think they do according to the comics. Owen doesn't like Obi-wan because he thinks he got Anakin killed.

Thing I always found odd about ANH was how little it had to do with the Force or the Jedi/Sith split. In the movie the Force was basically a macguffin to allow Luke to bullseye the Death Star.

Would have been a better story overall if the whole Death Star problem was relegated as the climax of the trilogy rather than something that needs to be dealt with twice.

Vader wasn't his father yet when that line was written. People shit on the new trilogy for not being planned out but the ot wasn't either.

Star Wars was created to make money and people need to stop romantasizing it. That's how you get qt Asian girls quiting twitter and grown men smashing valuable collectables.

That was the plan but Lucas couldn't get a three film commitment so he had to make the first film as a stand alone in case it bombed.

Eh. I dont think the ANH climax alone was what sold people on the idea. Another, more choreographed lightsaber duel or a decent non-DeathStar space battle could have worked just as well.

Either that, or he should have came up with something else to climax the trilogy with.

Course I say this as someone who thinks the first 6 movies dont capitalize on their most interesting parts well enough to not suck and finds the newer ones to be hit or miss.
