Republican Congressman, Scott Taylor says he CAN'T be RACIST because he named is SON after a BLACK GUY whom he served in the military with..except there doesn't seem to be ANY record of a black serviceman killed with his son's NAME!!

He's running for reelection in Virginia and is challenged by Elaine Luria who says he should condemn the state's alt-right GOP senate candidate, Corey Stewart.

Corey has been dogged by accusations of racism and links to other politicians with white nationalist views

She said "He should reject the fact that Corey Stewart stands next to racists and anti-Semites. If he doesn't have the fortitude to reject those values, then i think he stands with them"

But Taylor refused to either endorse or disavow Corey and instead said "I don't give a s*** about Corey Stewart. No one else does either except for Democrats who are trying to target me. No one cares, except for a small teeny amount of people you met at the cupcake place. What are they trying to say. That Scott Taylor likes Corey Stewart so therefore he's racist? Do you think that's going to play here? My son is named after a black guy. I'm a military guy. We don't have a s*** about where you come form. Black, white brown, gay, straight, i don't care"

He said his son, Sterling, is named after a "black guy" one of the best people he's known and was killed in Afghanistan.

He did not reveal the identity of the fallen serviceman however as he is a former Navy Seal from 1997 to 2005

The only fallen American from any branch of the military named Sterling was army Specialist Sterling Wyatt, killed in Afghanistan in 2012 and is WHITE..

Do you think his explanation makes "sense" on why he's "not racist'?.

The claim that he's racist makes no sense. It seems to just be built around his refusal to denounce a Republican candidate, which is just stupid. Granted, given that the whole subject seems nothing more than an attack by a political opponent, the frivolous accusation makes sense.

Now, I know Ducky often uses tricky wording to put their own spin on a story (like implying a hit and run in a recent thread without actually specifically mentioning a hit and run), but they don't usually outright lie like that.

Hell, my political philosophy is based almost entirely on the words and teachings of a black man, but I'm probably somehow more "racist" because of exactly who he is.
