no, I'm laughing at how poorly american cartoons handle money.

The simpsons cost 5 million per episode and each episode is pure fucking garbage. The script is trash, the animation is trash, the acting is trash etc

all of the budget in american shows goes towards making those involved richer instead of increasing the quality of show.

It's the talent cost I'd guess.

I don't think any amount of money could fix The Simpsons or Family Guy.

They've done every story.

Yeah. Some with a lot of Hollywood movies. They pay out of the ass for famous actors to read lines, then spend almost nothing on the script and other production. It's why every Reese Witherspoon movie bombs

I think Walking Dead handles the ransom salary situation smartly.

Because the show doesn't depend on any character, actors can't really make unreasonable salary demands.

And because the show is constantly cycling actors and is really popular, many talented no names are willing to work on the show as leads for lower prices.

They clearly put the money back into the effects, but I guess I can't really explain the bad writing. I guess $$$ doesn't fix everything lmao

Family guy has Seth Green, Mila Kunis, and Patrick Warburton.

Usually Hollywood actors cost a bit more than actors who exclusively do voices.

Don't forget Jennifer Tilly and, for a while, Adam West as a regular, James Woods as a semi-recurring character and guest voices.

Hell, Seth [MacFarlane] himself has become a big enough name outside of Family Guy.

Has Woods ever appeared more than once in a season?

The producers in an interview also said each ep of American Dad costs more than most people have in their savings times 10 lol. But Japan is also infamous for heinously underpaying their workers in the anime industry.

In any case, this is actually a point against the anime industry. They should have a way bigger budget

What on earth is bloating the budget for something like American Dad? The celebrity voice actors? It's not the animation

quality writers for one

the difference is super apparent when you compare the fox seasons of futurama with the comedy central seasons, for example

it's also apparent now with tbs american dad as opposed to when it used to be on fox

quality writing costs $$$

A lot of this comes down to Japanese animators making McDonalds salaries.

Famous voice actors in Japan can also hug the budget due to the idol-like fanbase they can command.

Oh yeah and in the case of One Punch Man, it has a source material which expediates the writing quite a bit. Someone has to actually do the work of writing Family Guy episodes.

One Punch Man is the exception, not the norm. It has great animation with the same budget as a regular anime show and the reason is that there was love put into that anime (not to mention a lot of the animators in Japan are willing to take super low wages and their work culture that promotes working over time). Look at the majority of anime shows in japan and you can see how terrible and lazy their animation is.

The comparison in the OP is dishonest or incompetent. TC fails to take into account a lot of differences and has no strong grasp of what all the money goes toward. Not to mention the ridiculous notion of a cartoon being good or bad at handling money. But I suspect Milkman knows he's just doing some good ol' dishonest shitposting.
