the arguments against it are valid, but on a very stripped down philosophy i think sometimes there are just crimes committed where the criminal deserves to die. a man murders children with his bare hands and taxpayers are expected to pay for his food and bedding for the rest of his life? that doesn't make much sense to me.

A lot of that is because of the additional legal fees crimes involving the potential for capital punishment entails.
