I'm lazy and don't feel like reading the article. Is it in terms of total amount reduced, or percentage reduced? Either way, pretty cool.

These measurements are in the number of tons in reductions/increases. The US, Ukraine, Mexico, the UK, and South Africa (followed by a few more countries) reduced their emissions by the largest numbers.

China, India, and Turkey were the largest increases.

Funny that somehow the United States is doing its part more then the rest. Absolutely not what one would expect.

China increased by a stupidly large amount of course.

Also European Union went up quite a bit.

Interesting bit.

For that impressive greening of America, we can thank the underground oceans of Americas natural gas that are now accessible because of the revolutionary, advanced drilling and extraction technologies of hydraulic fracturing and horizontal/directional drilling, and are increasingly displacing coal for the nations electricity generation.

It's nice that we've been able to conveniently let China make all of our stuff so we don't have to make the CO2 ourselves.

Actually, there's nothing the current administration can do to end the progress. The market has already decided on renewables, which is why new electricity from solar/wind/water is already extremely cheap even without subsidies.

Electric vehicles are going to take over in the next few years once we get the models that can go 400+ miles per charge, with each charge costing just a few bucks.

Now all we need is a renewed focus on making top of the line nuclear reactors and we're golden. (IIRC America already gets 30% of our electricity needs from nuclear)

Exactly. All we need to do is keep educating people on why EVs and renewables are vastly superior to the traditional ways of generating energy/driving and let the market take care of the rest.

Example: Imagine if everyone knew that the Chevy Bolt could get you 238+ miles per charge and that each charge costs just a few bucks in most states. And that EV charging infrastructure is appearing rapidly throughout the country. They'd be in even higher demand than they already are, especially since they're very reasonably priced for what you get.

Now we just need battery technology to get to the next level where you can expect 400+ miles per charge and it's game over for most gas-powered cars.

I believe every EV uses the same port with the exception of the Tesla vehicles, which have their own charging port because of how widespread the Supercharger network is.
