It's a shell of it's former self. It's somewhat of a tourist trap but go to Old Town. Park on one side and just walk it in the evening. It's so relaxing and nice. Lots of shops and great places to eat. There's a big white building near the Old Town square that's a restaurant called the Continental or Centennial or Cosmopolitan I think (it's something like that). It was delicious. I've always loved going to Old Town since I was a kid. --- FFVII Remake: A disaster in the making. If you're only a couple hours away Ill assume you know good Mexican food there is a place in barrio logan off of cesar chavez road called las cuatros milpas go there and get the rice/beans/chorizo and those tortillas oh those tortillas.... also the museums mentioned above are cool. Downtown as a whole is usually lively during SDCC. If you mean right around the area of the convention center I know a ton of people who go down but not in. There's a lot of people who just go to cosplay outside or hang around. There's quite a bit to do. Def stop in to a few restaurants/breweries. What are you interested in doing? Depending where you're coming from the beaches would be a nice atmosphere too.
