My hobby is building things. My skills are relateable to my career, and typically actually save me money.

That's not being a dumbfuck.

Spending 250 bucks on a shirt that cost 6 bucks in material and was made by a sweatshop kid making 7 cents a day is being a dumbfuck.

You'd figure that if they've been doing this so often, they'd actually put more into the quality of the items and just not make as much of it.

I don't. It seems like they're leaving money on the table. Or more accurately burning it, when they could make some money by selling the older I bought items at a discount.

Its their business model. Sure, theyll make money in the short run but it will degrade the brand. Part of the allure is its exclusivity, if its affordable and widespread it tarnishes the brand.

I dont think you understand luxury brands. They have to maintain that image of being exclusive and high end. If they sell these at discount to any random schmuck, sure they make some immediate money but their brand goes downhill.

Personal property =/= Private property

Oh, you're one of those.
Don't be surprised if you find me setting up a tent in your yard or sleeping on your couch. After all, private property is "bad".

Even then, these overpriced shirts are one of the two, and Burberry can do whatever the hell it wants with them.

So... sperm, ova, and blood, possibly even a kidney, are private property?

"Private property" isn't a reference to a fixed set of objects. It refers to an object with a certain quality which is socially constructed.

Usually a parcel of land, which is generally fixed in location, and the boundaries of which are socially constructed.

How is this quantified? Rich person who buys x product for 1000 dollars, see random person on the street??? wearing the same thing and somehow knows they didn't pay full price? And is therefore angry and doesn't like that brand anymore? What an asshole.

People will just wait around to get the discount instead of buying full price.

Same reason a lot of grocery stores will throw away food when its fixing to expire versus discounting it (particularly with fresh fruits/vegetables). Some discount a bit, but if they made it a major occurrence people would just wait until you could buy it for $1 instead of $5.

Not that comparable, as consumers can directly see a lower/higher quality product with each restock.
