He went away on leave this week. He's not going anywhere, he just wanted a week off.

On day two he came back into the office to look at his computer. Brought his wife in and everything. Spent half an hour here saying he needed to "sort out the computer, it's been bothering me". On his day off.

Then we realised he had diverted his work phone to his mobile. So any clients calling the office would get straight through to him. He did this intentionally.

We've since noticed he's responding to the chat in Slack (messenger app). Guy is sitting in a coffee shop somewhere by himself responding to work banter on his week off.

Don't be like this guy.

Well he has a significant other so it could be worse.

Not saying thats good but meh, plenty of straight guys have their social lives determined by the women they date.

There's nothing wrong with a man liking his work or work friends.

There's a bit wrong when work doesn't reciprocate his feelings because for them work friends are just cordial relationships and not true friendship

Some of that could just be contributed to being a workaholic but shit like responding to the chat is sad. Some folks just aren't very social but they still have hobbies. Like I wouldn't find it too weird if he just sat at home and played videogames his entire vacation because he's at least enjoying a hobby the entire time.
