Minimum Viable Product

Essentially instead of spending extra time and resources releasing a fancy product decked out with bells and whistles many users may not use or understand (or might not work right)you release a working but simple and bare bones product that early adopters will use and hopefully give feedback on what they actually want changed or added so that you eventually build up to the fully decked out model.

Ive seen this approach in many games. Whether its labeled beta access or pre release or not labeled at all and fronted as a finished product. Gamers seem to hate it. But the end product might end up better because if it. And its a more cost effective approach if successful.

The MVP approach from Bandai-Namco combined with rushing things may have killed Gundam games for good, so it has hindered games. It also affected SFV in some of the worst ways I'e ever seen.
