its useless. the information that can be skimmed can't be used. the tech is set up to be one use only codes that are generated upon using it, unique to the transaction. stealing the info would be useless.

It might as well be magic to people. They don't understand how it works. Just that someone tells them that column a is safe and column b is not so they'll spend 10 extra bucks to get into column a nidoran.

I tried some of column A and all of column B
Now I'm in the mood to help you, dude

i should make a kickstarter for "RFID compatible" envelopes for "safe passage" to banks.
itll stop hackers from skimming your cash while its in the evelope

100 dollars for 20 evelopes, which i will buy at Staples and print logos with a "No hackers" symbol on them.

im asking for 100,000 dollars.

My parents bought me an RFID blocking wallet for Christmas

I use it because my last wallet was 15 years old, falling apart, and (most embarrassingly) a trifold

Now I'm part of the bifold master race

There's only one kind of credit card that needs an RFID blocker, and it's those contactless payment cards (completely different technology than the new EMV cards, but similar to ApplePay/Google Pay). Anybody that uses those RFID blockers and doesn't have one of the associated cards are simply paranoid.

That would be the EMV cards I mentioned which are not quite the same as contactless payment but not mutually exclusive as both technologies can be present on the same card.

We shouldn't be using any form of RFID / Magnetic transmission system for important things like Credit Card / Transmission of data.

Electrical Contact Pins FTW!!

those take too long. contactless is much faster. less time just staring at the cashier as you wait awkwardly for the system to work.

I'd rather wait longer for safer systems.
