That's right, I forgot about the Mafuba! Goku was able to perform it on Turtle and he's not evil so I believe it would totally work on Superman.

Super Pefect Cell and Broly are capable of more than that. Broly annihilated a galaxy, and Cell was threatening (Convincingly) to destroy the solar system - given power scaling, there is no reason to believe that is a bluff at all.

Actually power scaling puts Cell WAAAAAY below Solar System busting. The scale from planet to Sun/star is huge and solar system to sun/star is huge again. Cell doesn't get close to that.

It's pretty telling that you have to posit a wildly out of character scenario for Goku to even sniff a win.

Goku would have no knowledge of Superman's abilities being tied to suns (or of kryptonite for that matter) and even if he did he'd want to fight him at his best, not make him weaker.
