So this morning, someone gets an email from admin about our packages having an outdated line item in them. It isn't even a "this needs to stop" email, but more of a "can someone explain this to me?" email. All our deals have been closing just fine with the item still in there, so it's obviously not a big deal.

Well now we have to go back and fucking replace all our open quotes with a different item. Which sounds easy, but it's not; for starters, the email from admin says it should be item A, and our email from sales ops lady says it should be item B, all the while both items trigger a shitload of "sub-items" which fucks up the price.

The dumbest part IMO is that I have deals going all the way back to 7/13 that should've closed already. Sales ops policy is to "look at all deals within 24-48 hours of submission." Obviously we're well past that deadline, and so now as a result of the delay, deals like these I now have to go back and fix, despite the fact that they should've closed literally a week ago.

Like it wouldn't be a huge deal if it only affected deals moving forward from today. Whatever, shit changes all the time. But the fact that it's fucking retroactive that far is a joke, especially because it's their own damn fault they didn't close in a timely manner.

Fucking shit man, at least my boss is still out today so I can play Octopath in the meantime, but man I have a big deal worth ~$200k that I already have fucking SIGNED AND READY TO CLOSE, but now I can't build the god damn quote because I don't know what's supposed to be in it or not.

So been spending this morning redoing shit that I've already done because I'm being told effectively that everything is retroactively wrong, even though it should've already closed by literally their own policy

I love doing the same work twice when I could actually be working on a $200k deal instead!!

This whole thing is so fucked. Nobody's closed a deal in literally a week because of this bullshit. We've gone through and made our changes (or at least I have) but there's still nothing but silence on their end.
