Update -

TMZ now reports that Demi Lovatos drug overdose was not due to heroin. While law enforcement initially said that Lovatos hospitalization was due to apparent heroin overdose, they are confirming reports from The Blast that sources close to Lovato deny that heroin was the cause. Deadline also reports that heroin was not involved in the situation.

TMZ reiterates their initial report that Lovato was given Narcan, which is used counter the effect of opiod overdoses. Lovato previously suffered from additions to alcohol, cocaine and Oxycontin, the latter of which is an opoid. However, at this time there is no word whether that was the drug the Narcan was used to counteract.

Lovatos rep issued a statement which read, Demi is awake and with her family who want to express thanks to everyone for the love, prayers and support. Some of the information being reported is incorrect and they respectfully ask for privacy and not speculation as her health and recovery is the most important thing right now.

As we previously reported, Demi Lovato was hospitalized after a drug overdose that was originally suspected to be heroin but was actually another unknown drug. TMZ reports that there have been warning signs to Lovatos friends over the past few weeks, as she has been struggling with being sober.

Before Lovato released her song Sober, on which she admitted she was using again, her friends still knew she had been taking drugs. Her friends were getting more alarmed each day, with one claiming he knew for weeks that she was in trouble, which was more obvious this past week. One big sign is that she had a disagreement with her sober coach and claimed that he betrayed her.

However, other friends claim they didnt know the overdose was coming, so she was able to hide it better from some friends than others. One friend claims he was at her home a little under two weeks ago and she was fine. While the drug was not heroin, it was possibly an opioid, as paramedics used Narcan to wake her up. Narcan is used for opioid overdose.

TMZ adds that the overdose happened following an all-night party at her home. When EMTs and police responded to the call, none of the guests were still at the location. The first responders arrived just before noon but they were told a party had happened. Some of Lovatos team were on hand but they werent told about the drugs that caused the overdose. Its unknown when the party ended or if people left once it was revealed that Lovato was having problems.

The night before the overdose, she was at the Saddle Ranch restaurant celebrating a backup dancers birthday. She was described as happy and lucid. Its unknown if the people at her home were part of the party at Saddle Ranch.

http://www.tmz.com/2018/07/26/demi-lovato-911-call-overdose-sirens/

Demi Lovato's friends wanted to keep her OD on the DL ... asking paramedics to come to her house without sirens.

In the 911 call from Lovato's house -- obtained by TMZ -- the caller remains calm while taking orders from the dispatcher. As the ambulance approached, the dispatcher let the caller know they'd soon hear sirens to which the caller responded, requesting they be shut off ... seemingly to keep the situation private from neighbors. However, the dispatcher says that's just not possible.

We broke the story ... Demi was rushed to an L.A. hospital after suffering an overdose, which law enforcement believed was from heroin. However, a source close to the singer said it wasn't heroin, but refused to divulge the source of the OD.

Demi's emergency came after an all-night party that started with a birthday celebration for one of her backup dancers at Saddle Ranch in WeHo.

As we reported ... Lovato had been struggling with drugs for weeks, even before last month's public confession of a relapse on her song, "Sober."

Check out the initial dispatch audio (below). You hear the dispatcher for the L.A. Fire Department calling LAPD and saying, "I thought maybe you guys better go on something like this." It's unclear if he's saying the LAPD should go out because Demi is a celebrity, or because of a drug overdose. The call is redacted, so we don't know if Demi's name or the OD was mentioned.

I'm really torn about drug abusers. They did it to themselves so many times, how are you supposed to help and feel sorry for them, especially if you know they're better and smarter than that.

Everyone gets hooked on in different ways. If you're young it could be peer pressure and lack of education. A person who is depressed or not very strong mentally can be easily persuaded into hard drugs as well.
