Buying stuff they can't afford? Don't think that's a millenial only thing.

I regretted buying my first place in retrospect, knowing that one big bump could have fucked me over financially.

Thankfully it all worked out and I'm on my 3rd home now.

The average millennial makes $120K..... and they're complaining about mortgage costs when they're subscribed to Amazon Prime and ordering a bunch of bullshit they dont need on top of shopping for other materialistic things?

Horse shit generation.

Seriously, what the hell? $120k? US? No way.

Anyway, I rent, I'm good with that. If I someday have a family then maybe a home would be better but for now, rent all the way.

Sounds like I did the right thing getting a newly built house. I could report any issues under 6 months after I moved. They repainted the driveway and fixed up a dud power socket for me.

The driveway is a dark grey and there were blotches of white paint all over it so they had to paint over it. I guess it likely wasn't originally painted though yeah <_< never really thought about it

Yup. I bought my condo in a high and sold when it had recovered. .. literally broke even in 3 years.

The townhouse I bought.... I made 160k in 2 years. I literally made more living in my place than I did at work.

As for my current place I'm not worried about market or profit. I've got 50% equity and a manageable mortgage over 25 years. I plan to live in this house til I die.

I live in Sydney near a train station and near an up and coming new shopping precinct area. I don't have any worries about making a profit if we ever want to sell and move.

yep. i think it would cost less to buy land and pay people to build a new one than it would to buy an already exiting house

No regrets here. It's fully paid off too, so I'm living mortgage and rent free. The smartest financial choice of my life. Too bad my other investment choices have been braindead, but I hope to make up for them in my future selections...

That doesnt even make sense. Mortgage payments are often cheaper than monthly rent, and you get to keep the house.

My guess is that a lot of peoples parents covered the down payment on the mortgage and left their kids to cover the monthly payments. Its literally people bitching because they have to pay for their house.
