Commonly referred to as "The Breaking Dead Theory", the fan theory breaks down like this: Walter White, a.k.a. Heisenberg, is the father of the zombie apocalypse that plagues The Walking Dead. His blue meth has been theorized by fans to be the culprit, with anyone who has smoked too much of it eventually turning into a zombie.

While the fan theory has been circulating for some time, the biggest indication for fans was the deliberate inclusion of "Negro y Azulejo: The Ballad of Heisenberg" in an episode of Fear the Walking Dead - a featured song from Breaking Bad. While there has been no solid confirmation by AMC, The Walking Dead or Fear the Walking Dead, fans continue to speculate and keep a sharp eye out for any evidence that could further validate this theory.

Things like this can be fun to talk about. When people start taking it seriously is where it begins to suck.

It's actually pretty fun. Sort of like the theory that shows how hundreds of TV shows take place inside a child's imagination.

Does it matter? As far as I know they still haven't explained why ppl are zombies in the first place. Could be wrong, stopped watching after season 3

I don't watch The Walking Dead so I don't know how they explain the zombies, but in general ... the origins of the zombies are never anything too comprehensive to begin with.

The fact that they have a comprehensive theory and bothered to actually ask the actors about it says otherwise

I've always liked the idea that in the season finale, it turns out an actual-facts magic necromancer started it because someone cut him off in traffic and shit just got a little out of hand.

Comprehensive theory? It's people remembering easter eggs and then saying smoking meth makes you a zombie.

And I doubt the person asking the question was super serious about it. People ask silly shit all the time at conventions.

The meth would be the origin which the zombies can then spread.
