Carrots contain nutrients that contribute to eye health, so anyone answering yes to your poll question would be correct in their beliefs. If you were specifically focusing on the myth that they'll magically improve your vision you should of worded your poll differently.

Another stupid NMB thread that shows off his stupidity. LOL

What is your source on this "military conspiracy"? It sounds like something a tin-foil hat wearing nutjob would say.

Your source is only half correct. Carrots do not improve your vision. That much is true. If you have poor vision, then eating a lot of carrots is not going to improve your vision. However, carrots do have a lot of Vitamin A, and Vitamin A is important for eye health. In fact, one symptom of Vitamin A deficiency is night blindness.

Too bad NMB never went to a real school. Instead he was homeschooled by his momma, who taught him lessons like having bad handwriting is illegal and you will go to prison for it.

But everything NMB knows comes from a clickbait article. Clickbait articles have much more valuable information than a real website with actual research.

Vitamin A is good for your vision. If you are deficient in vitamin A, getting more will improve the visual impairments associated with that deficiency. It will not improve visual impairments caused by other problems, because it won't fix those problems. Due to their beta-carotene content, carrots are a good source of vitamin A, but they are not the only source. Ingesting more beta-carotene than you actually need won't help you at all, because it'll just get peed out instead of being converted into the vitamin form (or in extreme cases, accumulate harmlessly in the blood and turn you orange).

Really depends what girth you're used to. The tapering of carrots is good if you're just easing into things.

There was a British Conspiracy dealing with potatoes. Ministry of Food used propaganda during WWII. George Orwell's wife worked in the Ministry of Plenty, I mean Food.

The Ministry of Food sez: Potatoes are fattening
Posted by Andrew on28 December 2005, 1:18 pm

I just finished Bernard Cricks wonderful 1980 biography of George Orwell. Lots of great stuff. Heres something from page 434:

Just before they moved to Mortimer Crescent [in 1942], Eileen [Orwells wife] changed jobs. She now worked in the Minstry of Food preparing recipes and scripts for The Kidchen Front, which the BBC broadcast each morning. These short programmes were prepared in the Ministry because it was a matter of Government policy to urge or restrain the people from eating unrationed foods according to their official estimates, often wrong, of availability. It was the time of the famous Potatoes are Good For You campaign, with its attendant Potato Pie recipes, which was so successful that another campaign had to follow immediately: Potatoes are Fattening.

Crick continues,

Many features of the Ministry of Truth in Nineteen Eighty Four owe as much to Eileens experiences in the Ministry of Food, particularly the snappy slogans, as to Georges in the BBC Far Easter Service. The Orwells never suffered from a shortage of potatoes, for they occasionally went down to Wallington at weekends to their vegetable patch which they kept going without regard to the dialectics of the official line.
