yeah, I don't like all the waiting around at the airport, I don't like getting to the airport, I don't like sitting all cramped up with a bunch of weirdos for any amount of time and I just don't like the actual flying.

the only thing I liked about flying was the fact that you literally couldn't do anything besides chill and watch movies. But even that is being taken away with internet access on planes. Now I can be reached while on a plane and I can work.

I actually look forward to it, because it's time I get to read.

The only thing I don't really like is going through security. Just because I try to go as fast as I can and worry I'll fuck something up or hold up the people behind me. Also if I get stuck on a plane next to someone who wants to talk to me.

I don't understand why people are scared of flying. I hate heights but when I'm in a place I feel very detached from the fact that I'm tens of thousands of feet in the air

I think it's mainly the feeling of not being in control at all and IF something goes wrong, you are 110% dead.

I know it's more likely to die in a car crash, but when in a car, you still always kinda think you are in control of the situation and your own fate (which is obviously not right either, but still).

It's certainly a pain for me to fly since I'd have to get forms filled out and rent an FAA compliant supplemental oxygen concentrator.

Kind of. I can deal with sitting for 3+ hours on a flight, and I've never been the type to get air sick. But all the stuff surrounding the experience is kind of irksome. Scheduling anything for the day on which you're flying is harder and harder because something always goes wrong, and something gets delayed, and plans get cancelled. The whole process feels kind of late stage.

I can't imagine trying to fly with family, especially young children. That sounds like an organizational nightmare.

This. I don't mind the logistics or the airport experience of flying, I just hate being on planes and knowing that my life depends on the mechanical soundness of a super complex machine. Takeoffs and landings are very stressful for me.
