They also have no moral obligation to provide him with a platform.

Sure they are, he pays to use their service, it's pretty immoral to deny service because of who he is, that's why these rights against the government exist.

VeeVees posted...
It's not his right to speak on someone else's platform.

Not really relevant, it doesn't have to be a right to be right.

lolwut, it's not immoral to deny service at all.

thats how capitalism works. i dont personally agree with silencing the opposition and i have never had any interest in spotify, but they are a privately owned corporation. you cant blame them for making what they believe to be the correct fiscal decision in the face of public pressure.

those are the exact same forces that should put a bakery out of business when they refuse certain clientele based on race, religion, sexual orientation or gender, but nooooooooo we had to get big daddy government involved where he has 0 business poking his fucking nose.

edit: i should also note that alex jones is a fucking nutter and i am not a fan at all. im not exactly happy his shit is getting cancelled left and right, but thats more based on my own principles of free speech, not being in any sort of agreement with that whackjob.

LMFAO, is it immoral for youtube to deny hosting my amateur porn videos, or for a liquor store to deny selling to a minor, or an expensive restaurant to service a half nude stinking drunkard?

Maybe not in those words, but James Madison called out Spotify rights in the Federalist Papers.

Nah, but it'd be immoral for xhamster to deny JAV content or a liquor store to deny irish customers or an expensive restaurant to deny republicans.

Spotify hosts podcasts of people talking shit, Alex Jones sells that, it's immoral to deny that because he's Alex Jones.

It's moral to deny him because he poses a very clear threat. He had to issue an apology for his part in pushing a story that got one of his mentally ill followers to fire a gun in a pizza shop.

He markets himself to people who have a poor grasp of reality and convinces them of dangerous stories. The next time one of his mentally ill followers goes to a "liberal base" with a gun what if their target when they open fire isn't a roof?

Why bother anymore? He obviously is completely incapable of understanding how businesses can choose to end harmful relationships.

He didn't have to do anything, he chose to because he isn't a threat.

He markets himself as a stereotypical conspiracy nut extreme republican, it's his shtick. Apparently you think satire is a threat to national security though?

Mad people do mad things because they're mad, if you make the world a hug box then somebody will be triggered by the lack of things to trigger them. Your reasoning is in line with the crazies who want to ban video games for "promoting violence". Don't blame dumb media, blame dumb people.

Whether or not the man himself was serious means nothing when he has so many followers who believe him over actual facts or logic. I will admit that it is mainly those followers you'd have to look out for, especially now that they essentially have a martyr to their (often dangerous) idiocy.

No one cares about the friggin' frogs. There's a reason you keep bringing up the frogs, though, and not something like Sandy Hook. That's a lot less funny than gay frogs.

Conservatives depend on technicalities and irrelevance. They can't argue things of substance.

For every effort they put out to make shooting victims the targets of angry NRA members or Pizza place they send a gunman to the answer will be something silly like "gay frogs". He says "gay frogs" therefore anything else he says can't be considered.

They were being told by customers they wouldn't use the product anymore if the podcast was on which would lose them ad revenue and subscription fees.

That's capitalism at work.

"Telling" doesn't mean much. As they say, talk is cheap.

Most people do not stop using a service they like if they like the service, even if they threaten boycotts on twitter.

It's the difference between using internet petitions to tell a company you are upset, and people actually being willing to inconvenience themselves to make a stand for something.

Well, Spotify didn't seem to want to find out. I'm not sure how you can say that's not capitalism just because you don't agree with what occurred.
