We don't know how large his role is, what the show will be about or any of the details for the show. Making the claim that it was done to please close minded bigots is dumb. That probably didn't cross CBS's mind. Discovery was a success to them and they want more Star Trek shows. Now I liked Discovery. I understand why people hated it, and I see those flaws. I actually feel it was one of the better first seasons for a Trek series, second only to DS9. I did like some of the characters like Saru, Tilly, and Stamets. Yeah Burnham who is the main character sucks and she had too much of the focus. While I didn't like the war plot that much it did keep me interested. Season two's main plot looks much better.
