As much as I love FF13, it's mostly for the battle system and playable cast. I fully admit that the game's NPCs are...lacking, to say the least.

One of the game's main weaknesses is the length of time it takes for the battle system (and world) to really open up, and it causes a lot of people to give up on the game before it reaches that point, but Ch. 11 is fucking amazing and once you learn the intricacies of the gameplay, you realize how well-done and layered it is
