it got a giant patch after a series of other giant patches

it's finally the game that was promised at release, apparently it's pretty good? i hear some polarizing things though. it still isn't perfect but at least you can make an actual character and interact with others now

New patch that added multiplayer, third person for both on foot and in ship, and redid a lot of stuff such as resources.

As said, it's not perfect, but it's much better and I've put a lot of hours into it and I'm having fun.

It takes a while to get going and you really, really have to follow the story missions for a while to unlock everything, but yeah, it's fun. I'm playing it with my friend and the co-op is fun, but it does still kinda feel like we're both just playing the same single player campaign alongside each other, rather than actually co-operating.

That's tough to say as it definitely caters to a certain kind of audience. A lot of people get chased away early as it starts you on an extremely hazardous planet to get you used to stuff. Once you're off planet and free to explore, you're good. If you enjoy exploration and base building, you should enjoy it.

Also the game is very pretty.
