21 y/o Katelyn Ohashi, a talented former elite gymnast from Seattle and once an Olympic hopeful said she would have been BIGGER than Gold Medalist, Simone Biles had she stayed in but said that the sport "broken" her and how becoming a college athlete found her happiness again!!.

She explained what made her drop out due to persistent injuries and body image issues that destroyed her self esteem and found success as a member of the UCLA gymanastic's team instead

She was at the top of her game in 2013 when she defeated Simone Biles and won the American Cup and was headed to Olympic Gory...but it was also the last time she competed at the elite level despite hours of training everyday and pressure from her coaches..

But what broke her most was her body issues because she didn't look a certain way. She wanted to eat junk food and not have to worry about getting kicked out cause she couldn't make a scale and the constant exercise was too much for her as she wanted to feel like a child again.

After a fractured back and tearing both of her shoulders, she dropped out and went to college instead where she found luck at college level gymnastics..

Her mother wasn't exactly happy with that transition but she finally accepted it and welcomes her new goal in life. She's a 2 time all american on beam and said there needs to be a change in the mindset of elite gymnastics because of the brutal training that many of her former teammates have endured

Katelyn is also an advocte for social justice as she fights for women's rights at her university.

Simone, who is now the queen of olympic gymnastics returned to the gym since 2016 in Rio and won the all-around at the US Classic.
