40 y/o Officer Jason Van Dyke, the White Chicago Police Officer who is facing murder charges for the shooting death of 17 y/o Laquan McDonald wore a BULLETPROOF VEST as he went to court today!!

Judge Vincent Gaughan ruled that Laquan's mother, Tina must also appear in court after numerous subpoenas for her testimony on behalf of the defense have been ignored

A police dashcam footage showed the 2014 shooting where McDonald was seen walking away with a knife in his hands from police officers as Jason came barging toward him from the side and SHOOTS at the teen SIXTEEN TIMES!!

Dispatched repeatedly asked for a responding officer with a taser and another cop responds that the teen is walking away with a knife and dispatch says "Let me know when he's in custody guys" and suddenly they yell "Shots fired by police!"

If the defense gets its away and Tina appears in court, they will discuss her son's troubled past to use against them and paint the teen as an "out of control teen" to lay blame on the TEEN for his own death

They are pursing the act of "self-defense" which is evidence of the teen having a history of violence or nature even if the officer was unaware of that before he shot him

He has been suspended without pay and is facing the charge of first degree murder as he plead not guilty and is acting on the self defense claim.

The graphic image of where he was shot shows that he was shot several times throughout his body include twice in the butt and several in 7 on EACH of his ARMS!!

The shooting erupted in protests and the case has roiled the city since.

Do you think Jason is Guilty?

It's Chicago, everybody should be wearing bulletproof vests.

A questionable history isn't cause for an immediate death sentence. It's almost like the government is intentionally lowering the bar step by step in order to slowly convince people over time that murdering citizens is acceptable.

Based on the fact this guy was walking away from the cops and I assume not towards anybody then blind sighting the guy only to then start shooting him that many times is certainly excessive and he's absolutely guilty of murder. This guys past history is irrelevant as the cop didn't know about it so that isn't a way to justify his actions. A Taser should have been used and that's that.

Fieldwork shouldn't be conflated with death sentences, considering that the death sentence is a cold, carefully premeditated act whereas officers in the field are making split-second judgment calls. And the government is certainly *not* endorsing this particular action since he's going to trial over it.

Police are trained for months on end against hesitating, with videos and reports of police officers being murdered for being cautious or careless. They're taught that every suspect, or even random person on the street is hopped up on meth, and is carrying a small arsenal of bladed weapons and/or firearms. Why does this happen? Because people kill police officers who don't have this mindset. So the departments, with full support of the state, drill all applicants into taking this to heart. The training is reinforced by it actually working in the field. Well, the most reinforcement comes from seeing the worst of society every single day. Murderers, drug addicts, traffickers, rapists, and general dirtbags. If you had to deal with all of that every time you saw somebody who wasn't a coworker or your immediate family, you'd have a dim and grim view of society, too. Also, resisting arrest is what a real man does. Certainly, do not comply and then file suit against the police for wrongful arrest. That's not "keeping it real". You have to show the man that you're hardcore, a prince among men, and the wrong person to fornicate with. You would be scorned by the people, and bullied (as in, being attacked on sight) for being weak if you just sued the cops. Your mother can do that for you when you're dead.

Careful, you might get modded for racism.

Also, the guy had a knife. No jury will convict the officer.
