$3,000/month scheduled, and I plan on adding another $2,000 depending on how much moonlighting I do.

My balance is $138k. I can do this!

I pay back 100 Euros a month for the like the next 20 years with next to no interest. I don't even notice it.

No interest god damn. That must be nice. I would be thrilled with that arrangement, but that ain't how it works in the states.

Edit: next to no interest, oh. But still.

yeah we have banks that specialise in student loans and loans for businesses. They give cheap loans in hopes of you supporting the economy one day. Government backed and such, I think they started those after the war to help stimulate the economy.

Depends on how much moonlighting I do. Moonlighting is where the real money is because it's like $110 to $130/hr depending on the day.

mostly because there is collateral that can be seized if you dont pay with a mortgage

the student loans have no such collateral

my friend in obgyn has 3x your loan principal and a lot of them are 10%. were you able to keep to just the 6.7% loans?

I'm a hospitalist, and most moonlighting shifts are basically filling in for other people who can't fill their shift. Since our schedule is one week on, one week off, any shift you do on your off week gets paid $110 per hour

That can't be the cost of full medical school....

You get scholarships or work on paying off a chunk of it already? I fully expected like a 400,000 number.

I had a scholarship that paid most of it if I agreed to stay in the state, which was easy to do since I lived there already.

Even if you only pay the $3k a month, you're looking to pay off the full $138k in less than 4 years. That's impressive.
