I think the Moon being an Assist Trophy is the biggest mark against Skull Kid right now. Like that would so obviously be his Final Smash, so for it to be relegated to a Assist Trophy makes me doubt he'd be included.

That's not really a mark against it, considering that we have Riki as an Assist Trophy and in Shulk's Final Smash. Plus, it's always possible that Skull Kid could have a different Final Smash.

What I wanted back in Melee was for Young Link to be able to transform into Zora, Goron and Deku. That would have been terrific, and Fierce Deity Link would have been a great Final Smash in Brawl. Sadly it didn't happen then, and now it never will.

Probably not. Didn't they confirm that Zelda's moveset was getting a significant revamp? Between that and trying to differentiate Link, Toon Link, and Kid Link, I doubt we'll see any more reps.

I'm hoping for a new F-Zero rep or two (or ten). Because let's face it, Fire Emblem sells a billion copies every time but what people really want to flood the roster with is high-octane Gundam rejects.

People only started wanting Skull Kid in when they realize that their pipe dream Majora Link that used masks was never going to happen

So hes basically a stand-in for a 4th Link (somehow its not okay that Fire Emblem has 4 Marths but wanting what amounts to 4 Links is a-okay)

That being said MM3D came out around the smash ballot so it couldve very easily inflated his numbers... idk

Considering how rushed Melee was (the game was made in only 13 months and literally almost killed Sakurai), this was a lost hope anyway.

Her moveset wasn't revamped; moreso that she was buffed. Which she badly needed, since she's been one of the worst characters in Smash since her debut.

The answer is simple: Dark Matter.

Turn the formless villain of the Kirby universe into a constantly shifting mimic character that takes the shape and fighting style of a random fighter in the game, basically the Smash version of Inferno from Soul Calibur. Dark Matter could automatically switch styles randomly after each stock lost and/or by pressing the taunt button, but the taunt switching could be limited to doing it once every 30 seconds or so.

You get the benefit of unpredictability and adaptability, throwing your opponent off balance. But if you end up stuck in a style that you're not good with, or that's a terrible matchup against the opponent, you suffer for it. High risk, high reward.

Its like you didnt even read my post. Im saying people are using him as a stand-in for Link because the Majora Link idea is a pipe dream that morphed into wanting Skull Kid playable instead

Anyways what I really dont get is why people latch onto Skull Kid. Sure he was in 2 games (but, Majoras Mask was basically a huge asset recycle of OoT, where that Skull Kid existed just to give a piece of heart). Skull Kid doesnt even do much besides turn you into a Deku and try to drop the moon down. The mask is the evil one and the boss you fight.

Why does the Zelda fanbase latch onto him when theres other major reoccurring characters that are better? Like Tetra. If you really want a bad guy, Vaati shows up in multiple games and has a lot of potential.

And in my opinion... there's only so much going for recurring characters in the Zelda series. I'm not a fan of Tetra personally, as she was used to trick the same pony Sheik did in Ocarina of Time.

Just because the likes of Vaati and Tetra showed up in multiple games does not change the impact Skull Kid, Midna, Champions etc. had or have.
