I would be okay with this if it was still all games because in the end it's only a $2 difference, but by being "select games" in my experience that means only the top AAA titles like Call of Duty and Battlefield and GTA and nothing else

Probably going to cancel Prime. They've been making this worse and worse at an almost comedic pace and honestly I don't even buy physical games anymore so I don't know why I'm even keeping it at this point. I guess it'd be nice to not be treated like a second class citizen when I do buy other random stuff from Amazon but that's rare enough that I can probably just deal with it. =/

If someone ever starts a service that gives even a tiny discount on digital games I'll be signed up on Day -1. One of the most absurd things to me in modern video game economics, particularly with all these gamer benefits programs that are now dying, is that it costs less to get the game PLUS a bunch of plastic than it costs to just get the game.

Like, especially from a publisher's standpoint, they'd save a ton on manufacturing costs from not pumping out so much useless plastic and also take a step towards dealing with their decades-old fear of the used game market, so I really don't understand why they're not incentivizing digital purchases at all.

A $10 credit sounds better than what Amazon Canada is doing, which is getting rid of the discount, which had already been lowered to 10%, and replacing it with nothing!

I agree with this so much

the consumer loses on digital purchases (because you lack actual ownership of digital copies of games) so they should be incentivized to purchase this way

and yet: no

Anyway this is good news. Please stop using amazon.
