With the release of Crazy Rich Asians and Netflix's To All The Boys I've Loved Before, Asian-Americans actors are finally getting their long overdue moment in Hollywood as all of the films have been critically acclaimed.

Friday's release of Searching from Sony stars John Cho and newcomer, Michelle La, who plays his 16 y/o daughter in the movie is about a father who goes looking for his missing daughter by going through her laptop and the movie is getting rave reviews!!..

25 y/o Michelle is making her hollywood debut in the movie as her story is remarkable considering she used to be a SCIENTIST working a lab at Los Angeles County Sanitation Districts for 3 years before getting an offer on groupon to take acting classes.

She said she studied hard for her biochemistry degree at Biola University but then got the acting bug and decided for a career change. She landed small roles on the reboot of Gilmore Girls and Mom but Searching will be her big film debut.

It's not that she hates science anymore, it's just that she wanted a change rather than doing science on POO!!. She's married to her husband, Frank who is very proud of his wife's career change.

Crazy Rich Asians director, Jon M. Chu has fully PAID OUT for 2 theatres of the movie opening this Friday to raise awareness for audiences to see the film.
