I can't get into this early college program I was SO excited to take because my accumulative GPA is 2.88 and not a 3.0? Mean while my current GPA is 3.76?! What the fuck, man?! OK, I made some poor decisions, got a few bad grades, but I changed. I became a much better student. Because of my past mistakes which doesn't define me at all I can't take this opportunity? That is some prime bull shit! Fuck those peoples man, I guess I'm crossing that university off my "check out" list forever. I ain't like West Virginia anyway

And then there's this other college university whose course I was really hoping to take (hint: it was my major) But at the LAST MINUTE those mother fuckers added a pre req English course that our school doesn't offer WHAT THE FUCK?! Fuck those peoples to man it's ok I didn't wanna stay in this stupid ass state anyway

sorry I'm just really PIPED because my schedule is fucked up and now I can't find a different course to take. The only other course they offer is Sociology (which sounds dumb) but even if I wanted to take it I don't feel comfortable paying $100< for something I may not even like. FUCK THEM man!

First two paragraphs: Understandably annoyed. Accumulative GPA is important because they're looking to predict what your 4 year career at univeristy will look like. I agree that it sucks and there should be other ways to get in based on recent history, especially when you've turned around. However, you also have to argue if and why they would or would not accept someone who makes the accumulative mark, but has been bombing courses in their final year.

Last paragraph: Gotta learn to deal with it, man. Not everything in life is gonna be something you like. You wanna reach your goals? You're going to have to be content with doing shit you'd rather not do. The sooner you get used to that, the better off you are.

My principal himself already tried reasoning with him. He told me it was non negotiable. Fucking assholes

I know man it's just, fuck, I was really looking forward to taking those classes (especially since one of them WAS MY MAJOR!) and I'm fucking steamed. I'm gonna now beg their admissions console to accept me.

Man, I feel like I would have had to try to get under a 3.0 in high school.

Did you take the ACT or SAT? Some places will probably forgive your GPA if you can get a really high score in those. If you're sure you're so smart, there's your chance to prove it.

Or just go to a lesser college like a community college because some of them will take pretty much anyone, then you can transfer later

This is honestly a smarter option for most people. Cheaper, 2 years credit tranfers, get to avoid living in some shitass dorms that cost an arm and a leg, can comfortably work a job while going full time. Community college is good shit, man.

But living in dorms is part of the college experience! Actually, you can get the college experience without that, just not at a community college. I always hated the idea, it's like night school for young people.

It's not about applying to those stupid ass schools, it's mostly just getting into these "Head start" programs that they offered to high school students like me. They don't care about my current grades, test scores or anything man. It's so fucking dumb

Have you checked the local community college to see if they offer that English course? You can take it through them if they offer it.

If they hadn't wait until the very last fucking minute to tell anyone then maybe I could've done that but it's too late. By the time I finish that my school year will be very well over. And plus my high school won't count any other courses as credits

At the end of the day or at the end your life it's small problems, man. There's 40 year olds going to college for the first time in their life these days. You're gonna be okay. Not telling you how to feel right now, but realize that it'll all work out.

The school year just started and your highschool doesn't need to count the credits for the college you're applying to to recognize it. The college wants you to have the course. Not your highschool.

If you really want this you can make it work. It's not always easy to get the things you want.

A single college course will only take one semester to complete.

The after degree program I went into to get my B.Ed. degree only looked at the GPA of the most recent 20 courses I took, rather than all 40 of my courses from my B.Sc.

This meant I presented a GPA of 3.6 instead of 3.1. It really should be your most recent performance that impacts your eligibility. Hopefully it works out for you.

9th grade - 2.167, 10th grade - 2.26, 11th grade - 3.763. strangely enough on my transcript I had some classes I took in middle school that counted for high school credit apparently, maybe that helped a bit

What the...? These two things you mentioned are incompatible. If all they wanted is your money, they would definitely not kick you out at all, or they would take anybody who can get financial aid or loan to attend.

I agree with TC. I once had a professor share an undergrad story about how he messed up but didn't quite fail a math class. That made him ineligible to retake it for a better grade. Having a grade like that will drag down your GPA immensely, and for him it took at least 3 semesters of studying hard to get higher grades in order to get back to the GPA he was at before. A single terrible grade can do that, and that's kind of scary.

I'm honestly so peeved. thanks to those fuckers my schedule is fucked up

I'm not taking sociology or environmental science because they sound boring,

I can't take engineering or Italian because there's not a class available at that time

I messaged this teacher I'm close with hoping I'm able to sit in his senior engineering class so I hope that goes

Like fuck man I don't know what to do now
