FFVII had 6 of the last 11 and 5 of the last 8. Still escaped, since the only one that matters is the last 1 out of 1.

Yeah that was a bit scary

Especially since the only character I'm supporting, Cissnei, was still in the mix.

Sucks, Aranea is one of the best new characters, was hoping to push her a bit this year after boots.

I wonder if XV will ever manage to get a foothold with a decent number of characters like XII and XIII have managed. I suppose those rosters were built up over time too but this is already the third contest for XV if you count that early Noctis appearance.

Actually I have already been suggesting this for the last year or two but as we've witnessed, I can't get two characters through nominations and having failed at Basch this year I will kinda be pressed enough to just get him back in, let alone someone probably too weak to draw any other interest.

It's kinda why I am holding out for Rufus most rounds. He's legit top 10 for me, but I wasn't really planning on pushing him this year. But I don't really want to see him booted, even softly, because that still means it tears into my ability to get other things in too. Unlimited hugs available through these next 8 rounds.

a character with three 85's and one 100 would have a STATS value of 12.25%, and since every round survived would be a 0.25% bump at 4 contests, just beating those metrics by 6 is enough to stay above Shuyin's 13.70%

in other words, Aranea had already prevented that last year by placing 78th

adding another soft boot doesn't help, either - when you're that low, that bumps you up anyway

I know exactly where you're coming from here

some characters simply don't have the support to go far, so it becomes a game of "do I let them get booted and be done with it or keep scraping through while hurting their STATS"

XII hasn't done very much in the long run in years though, and 5 is a pretty pathetic number for a game with such a large cast. It's missing a lot of very important characters, both for the game itself and ones that have historically done well in the past.

Balthier won on the heels of the game's release, and Ashe's run was back when she was mained by the user formerly known as Kleenex

Maybe, just maybe, Lefty has a different schedule and is starting them when he can.

As someone who was a beneficiary of Leon's usual start times (evening to early nighttime), I would still say lefty has the right as host to put up rounds whenever is most convenient for him, since ultimately you can't please everyone. Just because 7pm is good for me doesn't mean someone on the west coast of the US was enjoying 11am rounds when they might be working. This round wasn't the worst since it was a Friday night, but if it happens consistently then those of us in Europe just have to face facts that we're at a disadvantage and try to play around it. Or just don't play, it's your choice.

The trick is to find out what time zone the host of the Save My is in and move to that area, if not in it already, for the time the Save My contest is going on.

XII is very very few peoples favorite final fantasy is the largest issue.

If Vis weren't so hot for bunny girls I think XII could potentially get completely dumpstered.

Also I think whining about Basch not getting in while Reks AND Vayne are in the field is to completely miss the point. The FFXII fanbase clearly has its priorities..

lefty's said that he's been using RNG to determine the start times in the past. i don't know if that's still going on but i'm assuming that even with random starts they're within certain time parameters based off the rounds we've had aside from that one early morning round. although iirc he did ask about time prefs before the contest began which i took as an implication that his schedule was more flexible.

The round start times haven't inconvenienced me much yet, but I too would like a little more variety (I think 3 of the last 4 have all been early evening, right around when I start working).
