If there is one thing I'm sick of, it's people believing they are the "right" side, and all those dang politicians on the opposing side are evil and deserve to die with no honor. I think it's fine to talk about why McCain shouldn't be given any more than the standard amount of respect after death or pointing to the flawed things he did. Where it becomes "edgy" to me is searching out people saying good things about McCain just to interject those points.

That said, theres an old saying: if you cant say anything nice, dont say anything at all.

Its also classless as hell to talk crap on someone who just died. He did do some good for the country; we shouldnt deny that. He didnt deserve to be in pain. Nobody does.

You can argue that someone wasn't a good person without phrasing it in such a way to shock people. That's the difference between speaking your mind and being an edgelord. When you revel at the thought of someone's mouth dropping when they read what you wrote, you're an edgelord.

TC, you're looking at people who think politics is everything and subscribe to the political tribe mentality, 24/7 pushing for their statist goals, and this includes everything up to wishing death on others. We shouldn't be surprised when the unspoken party platform is "we can do whatever we want when those guys die off" and then they want to dance on a grave before it's even filled, when this hate has been their standard operating procedure for years. There is no off switch.

I probably have more reasons to dislike McCain's policies more than anybody, but we can at least take 1 day to remember him as a person and focus on the good things he did, such as his service.

You also always see stuff like "No matter what you thought of the guy, yadda yadda yadda".

I'd say what you thought of someone when they were alive yesterday greatly influences how you view them if they die tomorrow. Death is just a part of life. If you aren't a direct loved one, it should affect your opinions about as much as them putting on their socks.

Respect the dead! Unless they're REALLY bad. Then, you're a weirdo if you don't celebrate their death.
