Is Cyberpunk 2077 being in first person view a deal breaker for you (having also watched the gameplay video to show how it will be implemented)? Apparently there's a lot of complaints about it but I think it works better that way considering what they're trying to do...?

Was hoping for 3rd person but honestly the FP view is pretty awesome. Didn't feel like the game would have benefited much from 3rd person view.

I can't say it bothers me and I don't understand the fuss. It's basically like Deus Ex and I don't see folk crying for third person all the time in that game.

In Fallout, where I can choose between 1st or 3rd, I tend to spend most of my time moving around in 3rd, but for combat and looting I prefer 1st.

For Cyberpunk, while it would be nice to go 3rd person at times to see my own character, especially if customization is deep and I can change outfits or otherwise would want to look at myself, from a functional perspective I probably prefer 1st person anyway.

If there are a ton of cutscenes or other ways to see what I look like, I definitely won't mind.

True, but it's also accurate to the tone of the books etc. that inspired it-human bodies are becoming less about something you cover up and hide away out of shame and more racks to install new and interesting hardware in-not to mention that the place shown is basically the equivalent of organ thieves so the people being stored in the bath were just merchandise or cattle to them and no longer people. It was appropriate given the scenario but I doubt it will be a particularly regular sight unless you go looking for it.

Looking at the gameplay demo, there are cutscenes, so you will be able to see your character from an outside perspective as well.

Same developer, same design philosophy, same idea.

I just picked Fallout over Elder Scrolls because shooting guns in Fallout is closer to the Cyberpunk scenario than swinging melee weapons or shooting bows is in Elder Scrolls.

Of course, there's also the consideration that it's supposed to be a M-rated game, so if kids are seeing either excessive sex and nudity OR violence, then their parents have failed as parents.

Also a good point. Reminds me about this dumb woman moaning her kid heard swearing in a video game her husband was playing. The game was rated 18 and little Jimmy was of course watching his dad/step dad play. I'm not sure what she expected exactly.

Just because the game takes place in mostly First person doesn't mean that every single part of the game won't let you see your character. Deus Ex Human Revolution is first person but you see your character when you go into cover or when he is discussing something with another character.

I disagree. If you didn't find nudity "awkward" we wouldn't be having this conversation. Why is nudity more "awkward" than violence to you though? Religion perhaps?

I was thinking about this, but even in 3rd person games, often you will just wear a helmet the whole game over your beautifully customized face anyway.
