Sorority Noise - Forgettable

I thought Forgettable by Sorority Noise was pretty cool. Definitely more in line with the kind of thing I would listen to on my own, although it sounds like it falls more into the category of like 'stuff I listened to when I was a teenager and I go back and listen to now mainly for nostalgia sake.' Well honestly I have no idea what actually makes music good or bad. I only know what I enjoy listening to. And I thought this is something I could enjoy quite a bit. I mean, hell, I've never heard it before but it still gave me that nostalgic feeling for the kind of underproduced, more raw music that I liked a lot in the past. Though to be honest it's always hard to tell if something is underproduced or if they just produce it in order to make it sound like it was.

Anyway I felt like the lyrics here were a bit weak overall and in a few sections they really stood out to me as being kinda cringey. Aside from that, I thought musically and vocally I enjoyed it quite a bit. That would prevent it from ever truly being a 10/10 but this is a pretty common problem with a lot of bands that I like their sound and having what I consider kinda bad lyrics. I could see this ultimately being anywhere from 7 to 9 on my rating scale, depending on how much I get into it after listening a few more times, but I can definitely say that this is one from the topic I'll look up again on my own time and probably also check out their other albums. 8/10 for now, subject to change.

ah what the heck I didn't get any sleep tonight anyhow.

I'm Only Dreaming by Eisley was, as previously mentioned, really good! I think it's my favorite of the discoveries in this topic so far. kinda cool that I had two good recs in a row... really made me feel more enthusiastic about continuing to listen to music from here. if it was just a bunch of bad stuff I would have stopped long ago, you know?

anyway -- I thought her voice was nice. I liked the musical style being a bit on the soft side but NOT too low tempo (one of my most common complaints in this topic, I think?). it definitely could have been improved with a bit of complexity, but for the overall simple vibe that it was going for I thought it was done well. definitely going to listen to this again and most likely check out her other stuff, although it'll have to be specifically at times when I'm in the mood for soft music that isn't too complex.

I love that album.

Their older stuff definitely does have a different sound.
It's more...complex (I guess)? There are 2 main singers and tempos are different. I own "The Valley" and it's also good but different sonically (My favorite song of theirs is on that album actually, 'smarter').

The sound changed becasue the band broke apart to do different things. 3 family members were gone. Only her and her cousin were left, so they recruited in another cousin and some outsiders for this album.

Also, the girl singing (Sherri DuPree) is married to Max Bemis, the lead singer of Say Anything. (I only mention this becasue in your previous write up you stated that you used to listen to similar music back in the day, if you actually know who they are though idk lol)
