When you preorder a game with a preorder bonus, if you return the game unopened do they care that you get to keep the bonus for free?

As far as i know

There's technically nothing we can do about it, if it's a physical Item I do ask for it back but I don't think it's in our policy. I also ask them to surrender the receipt if it's a code but nothing stopping them from taking a picture of it or already using it

So far I have not had any problems and they've all complied

Though I will say if you become problematic and do it enough times the store will stop you from reserving them at all

So what you gotta do is return it to Walmart or some other store without a receipt and just get the in store credit

One time a guy tried returning a new game after he played it and I told him we couldn't do it so he kept the game and left the store.

I told my key holders about the situation just in case he tried to pull something. Then 2 days later he showed up with a sealed copy and because of their prior knowledge of the situation they still rejected it saying that they know it didn't come from here.

Turns out he bought it at Walmart and I heard later that he lost the receipt to the Walmart copy

He had done too many returns without a receipt over there so they didn't accept the return of THAT copy

And now he has two

Yeah, that's weird. Logic would say he would've taken the used copy to Walmart claiming it's defective to get a new copy, then try to take the new copy back to GameStop

Target policy is if its opened you only get the same one back no credit or anything

So he took it in said it was defective and got a new copy that was sealed and then took it back to gamestop. So still only 1 copy
