Really? All the bullshit people post here that goes unchecked. Mods seem to be sleep at the wheel at times... Yet that was trolling? Have you guys seen CE? That was nothing. Here is what the Mod said:

Are you kidding me? Of course it's going to be a generalization when I talk about particular identity politics. It's generalization when you talk about race, sexual identity and gender.

It's something talked about on here every day. Even then, I didn't generalize the entire Right because I specifically said some of them aren't like that.

Sure, let the racist go by on the daily but when someone talks about your political affiliation in a negative light then it's "trolling."

I don't doubt OP's claim, but it goes both ways. Got a similar moderation myself for pointing out something about leftists (to be clear - not the entire left; specifically leftists) that was literally an objective fact about their platform. No name calling, just saying "this is something that leftists support" (where "this" is an actual policy in and of itself, and not some kind of "they directly support X, which means I can accuse them of indirectly supporting extreme-case-result Y").

Interestingly, the moderator didn't respond to the dispute until a day before the moderation was going to purge anyway - presumably so he could uphold and act like "that's the rules", without risking that a lead mod or admin would see it and say "actually no it isn't. I did appeal it, but it purged before any response came.

Yep, it definitely happens. They usually will back each other up, though clearly in my case they weren't confident about that backup hence the delay in responding to the dispute.

Dude, seriously, good luck figuring out what is or isn't "trolling". It seems that these days the mods use "trolling" the same way they used to use "offensive"; as a catch-all for anything they simply don't like. No doubt it got to the point they had to come up with some actual solid guidelines for "offensive", so they just decided "no worries, we'll use trolling as our catch-all now, since it's a pretty open-ended definition too".

Modding around is like speeding tickets. Technically going anything over the speed limit is against the law but most cops wouldn't bother pulling people over if they catch them going like 2 MPH over the speed limit. But on rare occasion you'll run into a cop that will enforce the law in the strictest sense. Which is say, talking shit about anyone or any group can be classified as against the TOS and a lot of times they don't enforce said rule but that doesn't mean they can't. The all time best moderation I ever got was the time I got modded for insulting myself. When I contested it our conversation basically went:

Me: Uhh...the person I was insulting was me.
Mod: It doesn't matter. The rules state you can't insult people. That includes insults directed at yourself.
*Moderation upheld*

For good reason too. Mocking someone's stupidity is fine but don't jump the gun just cause you don't like them.

I've never had an issue with the mods and anytime I'm modded it's fair. People bitch about them too much IMO.
