OK.

AFCE
No-brainer here. Patriots. The Age of Belichick and Brady may end sometime soon but I'm not believing it for a second until I see some actual signs.

AFCN
Steelers is always a safe choice for this division, and with the Ravens gradually phasing into rebuild mode, the Bengals slowly deteriorating and the Browns being the Browns, it will stay that way for the immediate foreseeable future.

AFCS
What a crapshoot over here. Pretty sure the Jags will regress this season, but then again, I don't trust any of the other teams to be capable enough to reliably overthrow them. For now, I'll just say 'not the Colts'. That's probably the only surefire thing.

AFCW
Chiefs if Mahomes turns out to be pretty darn good, or even better, some goddamn prodigy. Chargers if Mahomes is just decent or worse.

AFC Wild Cards
This is a doozy. I guess one of the AFCS teams that didn't win the division(again, not the Colts) might clinch a spot. As for the other one... I have absolutely no idea. I'll go out on a limb and say Ravens for now.

NFCE
Eagles is the safe pick here as incumbent champions, and that's what I'll go with.

NFCN
Again, Rodgers's Packers are the safe pick here. Of course, no proper supporting cast and McCarthy is a bum subbing as coach. Didn't stop Rodgers from dragging them to the playoffs every year until he busted his clavicle last season.

NFCS
With it being an even-numbered year(so get ready for some prime Cam Newton suckage) and the Bucs being the Bucs, it's a toss-up between the Saints and the Falcons. Saints probably look better on paper, but something tells me to stick with the Falcons.

NFCW
Rams have been assembling some kind of 'win now or bust' team so far, so I'll pick them. Whether they actually will win it all is another story though.

NFC Wild Cards
Saints likely take one of them(if they win their division, then the Falcons). For the other, surprisingly, I will pick the Lions.

PS. As for the Vikings-Cousins bandwagon... I would put even the to-be-sucky Panthers, the depleted Cowboys, the deteriorating Seahawks and the questionable Niners in front of them for the wild card hunt. I have absolutely no confidence in Kirk Cousins whatsoever.

@Distant_Rainbow you really think Cousins is going to lose so many games the Vikings won't make the wildcards?

Idk man. That team was built on its defense and it doesn't look any weaker than it did last season. I just don't see Cousins fucking up so bad they win less than 10 games.

Taking a look at last year, they had a pretty little cupcake of a schedule where the only respectable teams they beat were the Rams and Falcons. Oh, and I guess the Saints, but the regular season game had them fielding Sam Bradford(who is arguably superior to Cousins as long as he can just stay healthy; which he can't. But it was Week 1) and the playoff win required a miracle aided by a boneheaded Marcus Williams play as they squandered their early lead and came this close to choking.

With Rodgers healthy again, a first-place schedule and a matchup against the Pats this year, yeah, I don't think they're getting 10 wins this season. I predict 9-7.

Oh alright I see where you're coming from with your prediction. I can see a 9-7 coming from them. I think it'll be tight between them and the Packers but if they split I think the dominoes will fall in Vikings favor.

This is all nonsense. Firstly, if the Minneapolis Miracle hadn't happened, the Saints would have won by one point. That doesn't put the Saints way above the Vikings. Case barely beat them, but Sam Bradford TORCHED them.

They ended up basically dead center when it comes to retrospective strength of schedule and that's even with the Rodgers-less Packers dragging that down. The Eagles had an easier schedule last year than the Vikings did.

Where are the 7 losses coming from?

@ GB, @ PHI, vs. NO, @ LA, @ NE, and I predict one additional loss within the division, whether it's the other GB game or any of the four DET/CHI games. Maaaaaybe @ SEA if the chips fall their way.

I couldn't find a 7th, but these 6 are definitely not preposterous.

I don't think any specific one is preposterous, I just don't think it's likely that all of them happen.

I'm accepting a Patriots loss. Just going from the end of last year (because I don't want to do too much speculating on the off season gains by teams), Saints and Rams were on par with Vikings, I would probably put Eagles on the same level as those three teams.

As far as the Packers, they're definitely contenders in the division, but I think the idea that Rodgers alone can keep the team going is starting to wear. Even before Rodgers got injured last year, the Falcons destroyed them in a year where the Falcons limped into the playoffs and the Vikings defense shut down Rodgers up to the point where he got injured in that game. I think if Rodgers had been healthy in time for the second showing, the improvements Case made between them would have still kept the game a reasonable Vikings win.

For all of what, seven minutes? That's not much of a sample size.

We've seen time and time again that Rodgers can keep the Packers in anything and give them a chance to win against anyone, regardless of his supporting cast.

The first quarter. My point is that this wasn't a game where the Packers were winning but then Rodgers went down and the tides turned against them. I mean, we're only another season removed from them beating Rodgers at Minnesota by a similar defensive stand. And the 2016 defense is nothing compared to the 2017 defense.

He always gives them a chance to win. That doesn't mean he makes them the favorite to win.

Also keep in mind that 2017 Aaron Rodgers had a lower average QBR, passer rating, TD:INT ratio, etc. than Case Keenum, who isn't even in the same league as Aaron Rodgers. Those six games I'm not putting on Aaron. I'm putting them on his offensive corps getting worse.

He had two games and eight minutes, followed by I think one post-collarbone appearance, vs a Keenum who has never played at that level in his life and certainly won't repeat itself.
