Warning Spoilers are possible in comments lol.

These will generally be whatever I can think of, with no particular rhyme or reason, but if I hypothetically were to see certain suggestions often enough, I'll consider using them. If you see any error, or loophole, that for one reason or another I have overlooked, I will try to address it in the comments whenever I can, in all bolded text. This won't be necessary on some polls though.

This being poll 19 is entirely coincidence.

Here are the winners of the previous 10 polls:

DBT18- Disney
DBT17- Read/Reread J.D. Salinger's book 'The Catcher in the Rye' 50 times in a row.
DBT16- -redacted-
DBT15- One time use P-Wing that lasts one week.
DBT14- Scissors
DBT13- Inhabit CK/Superman for 2 hours.
DBT12- Giant Land
DBT11- Spider in mouth for at least a minute.
DBT10- Cherry
DBT9- Charmander

From that list, I only read Pet Sematary (although I read some of the short stories associated with Salem's Lot... and, in general, I prefer SK's short stories). In general, my favorite is either The Long Walk or Christine (although the movie was better -- same for The Running Man, which was probably the loosest of SK adaptations considering how little it had in common with the original).

Guess I missed that round? Granted, the options were pretty lopsided considering that The Catcher in the Rye isn't a bad book by any stretch whereas the other options were objectively horrifying.

It was mostly to show that some people, even a small amount, wouldn't ever choose to read it no matter the alternative lol.

I also actually liked the TV adaptation of The Langoliers from said book.

Hey guys, remember when DLC was called "patch" or "update" and was actually included in the original purchase? Those were the days, huh.

You know, when I read the topic and choices, I was thinking of novels. However, technically it doesn't actually specify novels so I guess I could name an anthology instead >_>

The Bachman Books, I must have read that one at least a dozen times. If I was forced to choose from that list, probably The Stand with honourable mention to Misery.

Dark Tower had a promising start, but it tanked hard by the end. Wizard and Glass was probably my favorite book, with The Gunslinger a close second.

Overall, though, I think The Stand might be my favorite.

I'd disagree with you there, but I acknowledge that a large part of my distaste for the book is not being able to identify with the main character in any way whatsoever.

Which is similar to the reason I loathe FFVIII so much. Fuck Squall.

Same here. I just loved the scale of it and how King made the book feel more fleshed out than some parts of the entire series. You can tell that it got a lot of attention from him while writing it. Hell, the book stands well as it's own piece, disregarding the couple dozen pages bookending the story about Gilead.

Hell, the book stands well as it's own piece, disregarding the couple dozen pages bookending the story about Gilead.

It led me to want to read more stories about the gunslinging Knights of the Round Table questing across the land before the twilight of their fantasy kingdom instead of the way less interesting stories about a bunch of modern humans and Clint Eastwood wandering through weird increasingly lame post-apocalyptic worlds.

Sadly, we didn't get that. And by the time he eventually wrote The Wind Through the Keyhole (which basically IS that, to some degree), I was already a bit disillusioned with the Dark Tower in general, so I've never actually read it.

I DID read The Little Sisters of Eluria though, and it was okay, but lacked the comradeship Wizard and Glass had, so it didn't really tickle me in the same way.

In my perfect world, Wizard and Glass ends with Susan surviving, joining Roland's group, and Roland/Susan/Cuthbert/Alain/Jamie wandering off to have more awesome fantasy adventures. Instead, we got a book with stupid Harry Potter and Doctor Doom references.

I blame the car accident. It definitely feels to me like he became a very different (worse) writer in general afterwards.

Did you fail to identify with Holden because of some inner phoniness? =p

And Squall is perhaps the least of FF8's problems.

Probably due to the PTSD of being held captive by a deranged fan afterward.
