I still do. After owning 4-6" smartphones, I prefer 5" in the end which are still highly available on the market.

I dont understand why anybody would buy the small phones. I got the iPhone 7 Plus and its perfect. I watch videos on it and play games on it, so it makes sense for me.

I have an S8. I hate how tall the screen is because it makes it impossible to swipe the top menu down from the top of the screen without shuffling my hand around the phone when using a single hand.

I just want a 4.5 to 5 inch phone whose screen covers the whole front surface. And it wouldn't need such a large battery thanks to the smaller screen.

Personally I dig the small phones but bigger screens are better for clash of clans.

tbh I think something like the iPhone 5/SE but with minimal bezels would be top-tier

big enough to consume media, type accurately, etc but still easily pocketable

the only thing is the battery life, smaller phones have disproportionately worse battery life vs larger phones and I dont trust any phone maker to compromise on thickness to make the battery not suck

The battery life on all of these phones seems to suck after a few months. My very first day with the S7, I was able to take a 40 minute bus ride and my battery only went down about 6 percent despite browsing. Now, it goes down about 1 percentage per minute.

Same with my s7. I broke the screen and replaced it back in April. My fresh replacement had great battery life for about 3 months. Then it started to run down fast, even when it sat it my pocket all day when I was at work. Couldn't even get a full day's use out of it.

I knew a guy who literally got a 7" Samsung Tablet from Korea that worked as phone, it was ridiculous to watch him use it to make calls given how big and wide the device is relative to the size of his head.

you lose capacity as you go through charge cycles but if you're noticing that level of degradation after a few months then you probably have a rogue app/setting/update causing drain or you just use your phone too damn much(and have put a few hundred charge cycles on your phone in only 3~ months)

Speak for yourself. My 10 month old S8+ still gets 2+ days out of a full battery. If you're losing 1% per minute after just 3 months, then you've got a rogue app acting as a battery vampire somewhere.

As far as big phones go, my current laptop is 9 years old and my iPad is 5 years old. I don't think it's a coincidence that I haven't really cared to upgrade them.

As far as basic computing needs go, there is nothing I can do on my laptop/iPad that I can't do on my phone. Phones have gotten larger because they are becoming more capable computing devices. Just imagine that smartphones now have 4, 6, and even 8GB of RAM.
