Just picked up a used copy of Assassin's Creed Syndicate from someone selling it on Facebook. Covered all over with EB Games stickers, so other people owned it before them. The DLC codes were unused. :D

I always give it a shot. Back when Club Nintendo was a thing, the coin codes were almost always unused.

But these days DLC and such are much more prevalent, so it gets less and less likely that anyone wouldn't know to use it.

I cleaned up on Club Nin. Had enough points for their cards, both Game n Watch titles, a game case, etc.

For my other games I don't use the codes as I rarely try DLC, but I'm also not selling my games. The ones from Gamefly should be unused.

Yep. Tried one for Dragon Age Origins. It actually worked too.

Check them anyway. They tend to say that when asked because they can't guarantee a code, but not everyone touches them.

I think the last time I bought a used game was 14 years ago, and that was only because it was literally impossible to find that game new at the time.

All told, I can probably count the number of used games I've bought in my entire life on one hand.

I think I may have bought a use game like once or twice in my life. But it's very rarely, if ever. And I haven't done so in years, AFAIK. But I don't think the used game I bought had DLC...

There's nothing wrong with buying used games as long as you can see it first. I won't buy a chewed up case or anything. The discs are hard to scratch. And unfortunately since manuals are getting rare, that's not much of a concern anymore.

I actually haven't bought a used game since DLC was a thing. Mostly been PC and what little console stuff I do get I get new.
