Nah the movie makes you think he could do it, but then Thanos makes it clear in a ridiculously short amount of time that Tony Stark never stood a chance

He was getting some hits in and doing very little damage... "All that just to draw some blood?"
And he proceeds to annihilate the crap out of the armor in seconds
You can tell Tony is fighting for his LIFE too, drawing into a deeper kind of fear that started since Avengers 2 - that was really great acting

Collecting magical mcguffins? Forging a weapon, seriously? And the whole party team being split thing. I dunno. It's just... it's not what I pictured in my head 4 years ago.

EDIT: What the fuck now a battle between armies in an open field? The opposition being ugly monsters that know nothing but attack and killing etc? This is lord of the rings! And not in a good way. Oh man I'm so disappointed, this is how the russo brothers thought would make infinity war more epic? Being another lord of the rings type movie?

but the movie as a whole, at least to me, feels like a HEIST film.

And that's the way the Russo brothers approached it, actually.

So maybe think about it that way, to appreciate it better

Does he even understand what the word balance means? And what the fuck did they just use a star wars phrase, balance? Ripping off lord of the rings is one thing, those are a great set of movies. But being like that other silly cheesy franchise? MCU you were the chosen one, I can't believe you did this.

Dude has disintegrating powers and he just waves them away so they fly in the air all funny like. He doesn't even skull crush or neck snap anyone, like when steve rodgers was fighting him. That was also lol. I get that you can't make things dramatic without plot armor but some humans against this dude who could bathe stars in ronan's blood?

Also will be interesting to see how kree, this mighty empire and skrull compare to thanos. Surprised kree never went after thanos. He seems to be a one man leading mindless army with a couple of goons a la galactus/apocalyse's heralds. But now he's super powerful and they just leave him be.

Thanos had no reason to go around killing people - his object wasn't destruction. It's balance - kill 50% of the universe, save it from itself.

He doesn't have to kill anyone that doesn't pose a serious threat to him - none of the Avengers or allies, especially with Vision out-of-commission and Thor MIA, were going to draw that out of him.

That's why he doesn't have his armor.
That's why he doesn't kill anybody that doesn't seriously cross him or pose a threat.

It's really well done, pretty much everything makes sense. And if you follow the movie as though it's about THANOS, and less about the Avengers, it makes it even better.

So basically the movie is trying to make me regard thanos as... sympathetic? Misguided but endearing? I dunno they should have maybe shown more of him before. I kinda felt like they were gonna make a rushjob on giving thanos history for this movie. It was rather obvious admittedly.

Oh dope yeah I remember from avengers earth's mightiest heroes! Didn't get a lot of episodes but I definitely liked the ones she did appear in. That means SWORD too? I thought we were gonna see them in agents of shield season 5 but they went in another (awful) direction there.

But damn part 2 better not disappoint. I swear if we don't get a scene of all the characters in one room together working off each other, I will flip a table. I made my peace with the tv universe and movie universe being separate and never interacting, but now characters within the movie universe not interacting is too much! I hope we see antman in the next one. I saw the wasp in theaters and it was amazing but I left quickly before the end credits scene (since obviously I had not seen avengers 3) so now I have to wait until October for the dvd to come out so I can see it, gosh darm
