As it stands, I'll go in for chemo today (likely puke a few times in the chair) and then go home and be incredibly tired/run-down for a few days. By Sunday I'll start feeling better, and by Monday or Tuesday I'll feel like my normal self again @Future_Trunks posted... Nice dawg! what was it again? It's the chemo regimen ABVD for Hodgkins Lymphoma. I'm very lucky in that it's a very curable cancer (85% my oncologist keeps telling me) and so far according to my latest PET scan back in June I've responded quite well to it (with almost no cancer present, save for one tiny barely active lymph node) --- Not removing this until Mega Man 64 is released on the Wii Virtual Console. And these days I feel mostly healthy on my good days(granted, I'm hyped up on steroids and oxycodone 75% of the time). I was thinking back to how horrible I felt from December-April as I (apparently) developed the Lymphoma and got worse as time went on. I developed a dependency on Nyquil/Dayquil (I thought it'd relieve my coughing/nausea) and stuff like tylenol and Aleve just to deal with the pain and inflammation. Probably did a number on my liver in hindsight. Sounds grim, but if I didn't seek treatment I'd likely be dead by now. Now on my off-weeks I feel great. Go on hikes, get out when I can. It's nice. Everything came back clean, but was still nerve wracking waiting for results. If anything shows up, it's probably another surgery, then chemo. Chemo scares the shit out of me, so I'm hoping I'm in the 80-85% that doesn't have any recurrences. Good luck, Steve Nick. Coming back from that is bad ass. Glad you got help with the bills, the cost is almost as scary as the condition. I know firsthand. Burned through my savings paying everyone. Another surgery might bankrupt me.
