Watched the first two episodes. It shows promise! I like the world building so far. The characters haven't grown on me just yet, but I think their interactions are cute.

Oh hey, I just watched the first two episodes last night!

The world building seems really solid so far but the animation bugs the crap out of me. Like I don't know if that's actually a stylistic choice or if they just somehow didn't have the money to do anything other than key frames but it really, really doesn't look good.

Both my kids love it, and they never agree on anything. Personally, I have felt the show has gotten weaker as the season goes on. I'm at the point where they find out that the "healer" is just an illusionist. I'll definitely watch the inevitable second season because at no point have it felt the show is any less than decent and it feels like it could be a show that gets better with each season.

RWBY also hurt me when they halved their framerate after season 2. :(

Though obv even then it still looked way more fluid than Dragon Prince does.

If you wanna get real mean, Land of the Lustrous looks better than any of them could ever dream! That's probably what's really spoiled CG shows for me.

Yeah the first half felt really fast paced and story heavy. Then it gets pretty filler-y for the second half. Which is backwards for progression.

The filler stuff still wasn't bad because it was world building, but I was expecting a better pace from the first 4-5 episodes.

Episode 3 down, and yeah the frame rate and Rayla's accent are starting to get to me. "This changes EHverythin'..." ugh, but she made up for it with a cool action sequence, or what would've been a way cooler action sequence if the animation weren't made up of like 2 or 3 frames per second. It's really jarring when there's a bunch of characters moving around on the screen and it looks like a below average Flash animation (oh my that scene outside the king's chambers was not fun to watch).

I just watched the first two episodes last night as well.

It kinda screamed "we're trying to be avatar, please let us have that same success" but even with that being said, I found myself getting into the story a little bit. I'll probably continue watching.

And I am a person that can't tell the difference between 30fps and 60fps

I can't tell 30/60 either but I kept wanting to turn the graphics settings down

I actually think the frame rate works decently for action scenes but doesnt hold up for more typical movement

Watched 2 episodes. Story is cool so far, I'll probably keep watching.

Honestly in motion and with voice acting and such, the framerate is fine. It hasn't really felt bad except for a couple scenes. Most of the voices are good too, including Rayla. Straight up Sokka's voice is probably the worst thing.

finished this season. It's no avatar. And in the final few episodes, I questioned who their target audience was with all the "share your feelings" scenes. I mean, am I watching Dora the Explorer or some Avatar knock off?

Overall, it was just "okay." Just good enough to watch season 2 when it comes out, but I'm not going to go around telling people I've seen it (except for on here of course).

Slow start, but I enjoyed it. A few of the jokes really shined and felt close to Avatar level. By the end, the dialog and character interactions were quite good.

The animation quality was...different. It didnt bother me for action scenes. But regular walking and arm movement/gesturing were pretty clunky. My girlfriend was very put off by the animation but she enjoyed it overall too.

Aaand done. Thought there were 10 episodes, but apparently only 9. The Dragon Prince is a cutie. I knew as soon as they mentioned he could only be born in the eye of a storm I knew that power stone was gonna have to go, I dunno why they took so long with that reveal considering Callum is played to be clever. Didn't expect the cop out of the Prince tearing off Rayla's binding though. I was hoping it wouldn't be able to be removed and the group would have to learn how to get along with a one-handed moon elf and a novice mage with no magical artifacts- only his wits and a cube he doesn't fully understand. Could've been epic, but they've shown their hands as a kid's or very young adult show by refusing to make the darker sacrifice. Ah well. It was still fairly enjoyable, and I'll definitely watch the inevitable second season.

I hope Ellis becomes a new party member, she was a good addition in that final episode.
