My high school taught Calculus in 12th grade, Trig in 11th grade, Algebra 2 in 10th grade. I took Statistics at a CC instead.

I don't know what school you went to, but having Trig as the highest is extremely abnormal

get the solutions manual for your book. go to sections that are fucking you over. do the work problems in them and use the solutions manual to figure out where you're fucking up.

For math in college, they throw a shit ton of information at you and expect you to learn it before the next class when they then throw a shit ton of more information at you.

Then they expect you to know it all for the test within a few weeks.

Rinse and repeat.

If you fall behind, you are basically fucked.

Same here. I have a graduate degree too.

I did really good on my verbal and an almost perfect score in the writing part of the GRE. I got in the bottom 15 percent or something in math.

I was working on a phd in a social science. I need 12 hours of grad level stats for it. I got a B breaking my back in the first. The second course went worse. I could not keep up. And since stuff building blocked, i was f ed pretty quick.

One week, i spent 25 hours on 20 math problems. More time than the rest of my core grade classes combined.

What part are you having trouble with specifically TC?

Some aspects of limits confused the fuck out of me (like removable discontinuities) but now that we're doing derivatives, I'm wondering why they don't teach this along with the slope formula. It makes finding the slope so god damn easy

My school lets you take Calculus as an option, otherwise you get Algebra 2. Though for me it's like a four year old picking carrots or celery, both are painful.

IMO, practice helps a lot. I stumbled a lot with calculus early on but it's all a process; the more problems you do, the more techniques you become familiar with and the easier it becomes.

Though it still baffles me how my Fourier analysis prof can do integration by parts in his head.

I'm usually good at history but my teacher goes so fucking fast that it's hard for me to keep up. I study the stuff he gives out everyday and yet I'm just still just almost getting by.
