I like it. I don't purchase a game short of a sale on its GOTY edition anyway, so "DLC" to me means I capitalize bigtime on gaming content.

Depends on the quantity and quality of DLC. If a game has 30 small DLCs then no thanks(and fuck that game), but if it has one or two that are more like what we used to call "expansion packs" then sure.

This is exactly my thought on the matter. If only they added dlcs like, say, Diablo 2's Lord of destruction, which added quite a bit for a modest price.

Instead most dlcs these days are blatant cash grabs that just lock out content for people.

If a game is based on an on going serries and decides to add characters that show up in the newest arcs I'm fine with it . for example Xenoverse 2 came out when Super began and new characters were DLC along with new attacks and new quests based on the current arc.

But if its a game where you to buy DLC to beat the game or pay $19 for three new characters forget it. If the DLC is $5 to $10 and adds more than just characters then its fine. I do want the game to be a finished product on release date. I would like all playable characters to be in the game at the start or unlock able by doing achievements in-game instead of buying things from the PSN.

There are same games with "ultimate versions" that come out a year or so after the main game that has all the dlc or most of it.

I love LoD, and it took them a year to make and release it IIRC. It'd be worth it for the runes / runewords alone.

Of course it isn't completed. They saved that job for later for folk like you who love opening their wallets and buying whatever shit publishers throw at you. No matter what others say you'll always find a way to justify that thought process to yourself so as I said this shitty practices are made for folk just like you.

That's perfectly fine. I don't mind spending money on games I like. If I buy a completed game(that feels completed and has a complete story and everything) and I like it, I don't see the problem with buying DLC. It's just more of what I like.

you get many games with essential or major content locked behind a paywall (or, as it sounds like the case is with Spiderman, conspicuous holes where missing content could have been that artificially make the content more attractive than it would otherwise have been

Wut. Spider-Man has a ton of side-content.

I believe wwinterj25 said that some of the DLC content should have been put in the original game to began with... Or something like that. I think that's why he's replying like that...

Yep. I haven't actually played Spiderman, so I don't know how vital the DLC feels. It could be there's an awkward hole where it obviously belongs, or it could be that winter's just getting overly upset by not being able to enter a certain area without buying the DLC. For the sake of discussing it with him, though, I used his example as an example of the former, though I could be quite wrong to describe it as such.

Only thing I can think of from Spider-Man that fits that description is how a certain set of side missions sort of "dead ends", and it's obviously setting up some DLC content. I felt it wasn't cut, per se, but meant to be a sort of teaser for the DLC to come.

Otherwise Spider-Man feels like a very complete game. A great game, at that.
